Meat Slicer Buyer's Guide

By: Dustin Lorenz

Learn About Meat Slicers - What Do They Do, How Can I Use It, What Are The Benefits?

If you're thinking about getting a meat slicer, you need to know how they work & what they can do! Let's start with the basics. Prepackaged meat is very expensive, and it's not always cut or styled the way you would like; not only that, but any time you would like to make a recipe or dish that includes thinly sliced meat, you have to deal with the inconvenience of going to the store each and every time. Thankfully, getting a meat slicer will fix every one of these problems. By purchasing meat and slicing it yourself, you would pay on average around four times less when compared to buying it pre-sliced from the store. You have complete control of the thickness of the meat slices, AND you can slice just enough for the occasion and store the rest of the meat away in the freezer for use at a later time. Many people claim that they wish they would have purchased a meat slicer 'years ago', and you'll quickly find out that's the case.

If you like to cook, you know that meat is a staple in a vast number of recipes. Getting a food slicer expands the horizons for you in your kitchen - no more limitations! Let's be honest, this is one of the best investments you can make if you are involved with making or cooking meat frequently - but even if it's only once a week! You may not use sliced meat much now, but as soon as you get your hands on a slicer you will find it's not really a hobby.. it's an addiction. The opportunities that arise in your recipe arsenal will have your family, friends, or customers begging for more. Though the name speaks for itself in one fashion, meat slicers can do much more than just slice meat: you can slice vegetables, fruits, breads, and more! Your new vision of your cooking capabilities has just exploded with endless posibilities. It's truly a fun and exciting appliance to have in the kitchen, and again, you'll think to yourself "Why did I never get this before?".

The meat slicer is electric, and has a spinning serrated blade that slices through the meat like butter. You can use the control to adjust the thickness of the slices of whatever you are putting through it, and it comes with a safety switch that is held down while slicing to prevent any injury. The piece of meat you are slicing is held on the tray of the slicer, and the tray glides forward and back in order to slice the meat. Not only are our slicers durable, but they are very stylish as well! It can blend into your kitchen very nicely as the designs are smooth and very professional; we carry a few 'colored' slicers that can match just about any setting imagineable. An electric slicer is also a very nice conversation piece when having anyone over or just plain having a general conversation at all - you will find yourself raving about it, and also find that not many people realize they actually make meat slicers for home use (when you do let them know, please recommend them to us!). All of our slicers come with warranties, and you can read reviews on our products by clicking the "Reviews" tab on the product page. Excited yet? We are too!

Recommendations

If you would just like to use your slicer "once in a while" or are kind of new to the whole cooking thing, our 'beginners' favorite is the Chef's Choice 610 model. It has great reviews and is the best slicer on the market you can buy in the price range. If you're a more avid cooker or have a restaurant or any eatery, or you just want to jump right in to the meat slicing scene, the Chef's Choice 632 is the next favorite for intermediate use. Chef's Choice, also known as Edgecraft, actually has the only slicers on the market with a "VariTilt" feature that lets you slice your meat on an angle. The 632 model has this capability, and it also has very many great consumer reviews. Finally, if you are serious about processing meat or own a restaurant that processes a lot of foods and meats, you should go for the Chef's Choice 667. We find that a lot of people like the 667 even if they are just for home use, because it's very heavy duty and the absolute best slicer available in the home slicer market. We would say it truly rivals a commercial meat slicer. We find our customers also like our Kalorik slicers for home use. If you want to save money and expand your cooking potential, or just have a little fun with cooking around the home, you should really consider getting one of our slicers. Please keep in mind that not only do we have the lowest prices around, but we also offer free shipping on all of our products.
