Deep Fryers

Having a deep fat fryer at home offers convenience when frying foods. They are a must if you cook a lot and if you love fried foods. If you don't already own a counter top fryer, you probably use a large cast iron cooking pan to fry your food or a large stove top electric deep fryer. This not only consumes a higher amount of cooking oil, some foods cannot fit properly in the pan. There is also the risk of burning food. Getting a deep fryer for your home may be something you want to consider.

What are some of the considerations to make when buying a Deep fryer you ask?

You want to choose the right size fryer for your needs. If you will be frying food for one or two, then a small counter top fryer will do. If you have a big family or entertain a lot, you might consider a larger counter top unit or even a fryer that you use outdoors. (When a lot of food is squeezed in a small unit, it will not cook properly). If you're a food vendor or are a big tailgater, you might want to go for a commercial grade fryer.

Whatever kind of deep fryer you decide on, for indoor or outdoor, counter top, conventional, commercial grade, or All-in-One, the conveniences of having one is endless,  Especially the multi-purpose models. Cooking is only limited by your imagination. Dream up some culinary masterpieces today.

There are a number of different types, styles and sizes of electric deep fryer models that are available on the market. Nevertheless, regardless of the specific model that is chosen, such as a professional deep fryer, a model for home kitchens, or even a mini deep fryer, some components are common to all models.

Small deep fryers are perfect for quick snacks and small portions of food. Fry chicken, French fries, vegetables, potatoes, pizza rolls, onions and more. Some electric deep fryer units feature cool touch handles and lids to prevent potential burns. Odor eliminating filter are also a bonus to keep your kitchen smelling fresh. The best thing about small deep fryers is the compact design allows for easy storage or taking up less counter space. A new feature in some deep fryers is a rotating basket. This feature will help the food cook more thoroughly and even. Whatever the features you are looking for in a deep fryer can be found because there are many more fryers on the market today than ever before.

New versions of this type of fryer now comes with electric timers, audible alarms, manual and automatic to raise and lower the frying basket, ventilation system to regulate the smell of the fried food in the kitchen. Some fryers are also highly sophisticated yet still user-friendly now as it comes with a feature of digital and electronic temperature controls to even the frying of the food, measure the amount of spilled crumbs that are about to get burned.

Before deciding on a particular electric deep fryer, you should check out the efficiency of the fryer by looking into the type of material the various models are made of and comparing the oil capacity of the different units. For preparing items that cook fast, such as chips and fries, you should choose aluminum electric fryers because they are able to heat up and cool down much quicker, which can help to prevent over cooking. A copper or stainless steel deep fryer is a better choice if you plan to primarily cook larger meats and cuts because they retain the heat much better than aluminum.

The best size of Electric Deep fryer for your kitchen is going to depend upon the quantity of food you will be preparing and how often you use it. If you routinely cook for several folks, then you may want to choose a deep fryer that has a larger fry pot and one that can accommodate more than one frying basket. If you will only use it occasionally or for only one of two folks per meal, then a mini deep fryer will probably be sufficient.

About your Deep Fryer Oil

Oil does not last indefinitely, and because it can become rancid it is best to play it safe. As a rule, reuse it one time before disposal, and reuse it within a few weeks after the first use. If it smokes upon heating turns deep brown, or has a foul odor, it is not safe to reuse. Properly disposed of it, wash and dry the deep fryer according to manufacturer directions, and replace it with fresh liquid grease. It is not worth reusing to save a few dollars since it will not provide optimum results. Fried foods will not look appetizing or taste nearly as good as they would with fresh oil.
