A waffle maker is a must have for the breakfast lover
So you are hooked on waffles and you want to start making them at home? Waffle makers (also called waffle irons) go quite a long way back. Some even date them all the way back to ancient times and we guess waffles could be right there with them.
Did you know you can even cook bacon in a waffle iron! In a pan, the fat and meat shrink and cook at different rates and over time leave a troublesome amount of grease in the pan that makes multiple batches challenging. The waffle iron pulls away bacon grease in its nooks and notches, and you can collect it to use in another food, or leave a thin layer of grease on for seriously home-style waffles.
One thing you should decide before you go and buy a waffle iron is the size of it. Do you want to make real Belgian waffles? In that case you need a Belgian waffle maker – it is bigger in size and has a deep grill to make that Belgian waffle pattern and size we all know. Or maybe you like the square shape with its thinner size, we have those too! We even have some designed for special occasions, how about a heart shaped waffle, for your sweetie on Valentine’s Day?!
