Roast Beef Sandwich Recipe

By: Darrel Lorenz

Here’s another reason you will be happy that you bought an electric Meat Slicer. If you’ve ever admired the great Roast beef sandwiches that your local deli has offered than you will love this recipe. It doesn’t take a professional butcher to make a great beef sandwich. With this simple recipe you will never ask your local deli to make you a roast beef sandwich ever again.

This will make approximately six sandwiches for your whole family to enjoy.

INGREDIENTS:

12 ounces cooked roast beef, thinly sliced

1/2 cup Italian salad dressing, divided

1 loaf (8-oz. size) Vienna bread, unsliced

2 tablespoons chopped ripe olives

6 Boston lettuce leaves

6 tomato slices, cut 1/4-inch thick

6 onion slices, cut 1/8-inch thick

6 green onions bell pepper rings, cut 1/4-inch thick

6 slices provolone cheese

The best way to cook beef is in a plastic bag. This insures that the roast will be full of flavor and stay juicy not dry. You should marinate the beef for at least 1 to 2 hours in your refrigerator before cooking in the oven. Another tip before slicing the roast with your electric meat slicer is to refrigerate your roast overnight.

Slice your roast into thin slices with your Electric Meat Slicer. Take your Vienna bread and slice it lengthwise. Combine salad dressing and olives and spoon them over the bottom slice of the bread.

To assemble your sandwich put lettuce, cheese, tomato, green pepper and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the bread and add thinly sliced roast beef on top, Enjoy!
